Last-Minute Move? How to Pack a House in a Weekend

Sometimes you don't get four weeks — you get four days. A last-minute move is stressful, but it's absolutely doable if you stop trying to be perfect and start being fast. Here's how to pack a whole house in a weekend.

First: get containers in your hands today

You can't pack without something to pack into, and a last-minute box hunt wastes hours you don't have. Same-area tote delivery gets sturdy containers, a dolly, and labels to your door fast — so you can start packing immediately instead of driving around collecting cardboard.

Pack fast, not perfect

• Don't declutter now. Sort later — just get everything boxed.
• Leave clothes on hangers, grouped and bagged. Dresser drawers can often move as-is.
• Use towels, blankets, and clothes as padding for breakables — it doubles as packing them.
• Don't empty small drawers — tape them shut and move the whole thing.

Work room by room, in order

Even in a rush, set aside one tote: chargers, meds, toiletries, a couple days of clothes, snacks, and basic tools. It keeps the first night livable while everything else is still stacked up.
